Afghanistan: U.S. Government Setting Up Our Troops To Die

March 19, 2013 2 comments

This video is jaw dropping.  Clearly, our troops are in serious peril over there, set up by their very own leaders.  These “leaders” are letting them die.   Our Men and Women serving over there are nothing more than pawns to this horrid regime.

Hat Tip @BWSchank for the forward. Thank You

“I believe in adequate defense at the coastline and nothing else. If a nation comes over here to fight, then we’ll fight. The trouble with America is that when the dollar only earns 6 percent over here, then it gets restless and goes overseas to get 100 percent. Then the flag follows the dollar and the soldiers follow the flag.” ~Major General Smedley Darlington Butler

Letter From A Soldier In Afghanistan: “The Dumbest War, Ever.”

November 1, 2012 6 comments

TWG:  There are no words that can adequately describe how angry and sad I am after reading this letter.    I usually clip a paragraph from articles and post links to continue reading, but it’s important that people read this entire letter and I have included the entire document.  Source for this is: http://www.michaelyon-online.com/americas-dumbest-war-ever.htm

Yesterday a concerned father forwarded to me a letter from his son in Afghanistan. I confirmed authenticity, and republish with permission:

Dad,

I am fed up. I cannot believe the lack of attention the recent changes in this war is receiving by the media or the country. I think I saw one thing on CNN about the following subject, but I had to dig extensively to find it. The purpose of this letter is to let you know of the garbage that our soldiers are going through right now. With this knowledge, I hope that you take action by writing your congressmen.

First, because of the recent green on blue incidents or “insider threats” as the new buzz phrase dictates, all coalition forces in Afghanistan have completely stopped partnering with the ANA, AUP, and ALP in order to prevent the death of anymore CF casualties by ANSF or Taliban disguised as them. This is also greatly spurred by President Karzi’s indifferent attitude and lack of action to take measures to prevent further insider attacks.

patch-1000

Second, because of this massive change in policy (and complete change in mission) all U.S. forces are forbidden to actively patrol their AO and are to remain on their respective COPs/FOBs. There are only a few exceptions to this rule and they all pertain to “hardening” highway 1 in our AO. We have received orders that clearly state that all CF will no longer be allowed to drop air to ground munitions within the country of Afghanistan. This preempts Karzi’s announcement that will be made shortly that states the above mentioned order, making it a tactical directive that he is ordering.

To the first point: Our mission in Afghanistan is to partner with the ANSF on all levels. Now the policy makers are telling us that we are not allowed to do that and further more we are to take immediate measures to secure ourselves from the ANSF that are co-located with us. So the question now becomes, what is our mission? Furthermore, the implication is that we have absolutely no reason to still be in this country if we are not partnering with the ANSF. So why are we here?

To the second point: I don’t think that the American citizens would be happy if they knew that their soldiers were being prohibited from defending themselves in any way because of politically driven orders, but that is precisely what is happening in this war right now even as I write this letter. The soldiers of the U.S. never engage the enemy unless we know that we have will always have the tactical advantage in defending ourselves, that advantage is the use of close air support and air weapons team. To take those weapons away from us is to level the playing field for the enemy and thus exposing our soldiers to more danger. In the school house they teach us that the minimum ratio that we are to engage the enemy with, is a 3:1 ratio. In other words, we have the highest probability of winning because we don’t fight fair. The sound tactical principles behind this teaching have saved lives. The very presence of aircraft over our foot patrols has also saved lives and now our chain of command is being told by our political leadership that this is now not allowed.  If we are not partnering with the ANSF and we are not actively patrolling to prevent our enemies from massing their attacks on our COP and we can’t drop a bomb on the enemy that we have positively identified, than what the hell are we doing here?

Give us a mission or send us home. I honestly have no preference on what the politicians decide, as long as they just make a decision. Of course this will be a terrible inconvenience on the current elections so I am sure we will be forgotten, which really does not seem to be too different for how things have been going for the last eleven years.

foot-1000Policeman’s foot, Zhari District, Kandahar Province 2011.

Do not buy into what the some media outlets have already said about this. Casually saying that this is a frequent occurrence is false, and is an attempt to downplay the major ramifications for these decisions. We have never been so restricted in defending ourselves as we have now. This is not just a stand down. The other implication of this decision is that we will perhaps never regain our relationship with the ANA after we have executed these measures to protect ourselves from them.  Essentially, we have left them to die as we watch from our high-tech cameras and UAVs. They will not forget this and I fear the relationship will never be the same.

I love you very much Dad and I don’t want you to worry about me any more than you already are, but I also know that this has to be brought up, someone has to say something about this. It is wrong to keep this hidden away while American soldiers are under constant threat of death and dying.  I don’t care if you send this letter directly, this needs to be known.

Your son,

obama Commanding Our Troops To Rebuild islamic Terrorist Mosques In Afghanistan and Elsewhere

TWG: THIS IS DESPICABLE.  Talk about “Aiding and Abetting the enemy”.  What is it going to take to wake people up?  obama, and his ENTIRE REGIME, has demonstrated time and again that their allegiance is with islamic terrorists and NOT WITH AMERICA AND HER MILITARY TROOPS.

President Obama Fumbled Afghanistan

By Michael Yon

…….Afghanistan: In October 2001, we destroyed Mullah Omar’s mosque in Sangesar Village, down in Kandahar Province.  His second of three wives, Guljana, was from this village.  His family lived there.  This tiny mosque literally was the birthplace of the Taliban.

Under President Obama, ten years later in 2011, US troops renovated Mullah Omar’s mosque in Sangesar.  First we bombed it in 2001.  Then we fixed it in 2011.  This remains one of the most dangerous areas of Afghanistan.

Perhaps we forgot that Mullah Omar gave Osama bin Laden sanctuary, and bin Laden then attacked America.

The symbolic appeasement represented by refurbishing the mosque is enormous. The place is in the middle of fields of poppy.  Renovating this mosque in Sangesar is like building a dual monument to al Qaeda, and drug cartels.

We are not in this together.  Sangesar is an enemy village.  Our troops still die there.

In 2012, Mullah Omar praised the murders of Coalition forces.  General John Allen, the US commander at the time, called it “an unmistakable message of death.”  Mullah Omar was so busy directing the faithful to murder our troops that he forgot to express gratitude for the revenue stream from opium, and for the renovated mosque demonstrating his potency….

AGAIN, Veterans Get The Middle Finger From The obama Regime.

[TWG Note: Just when I thought I couldn’t HATE that marxist bastard son of a whore any more than I do now, he pulls THIS. The obama regime continues to stick “it” to our Veterans, with nary a whimper from said Veterans. Most of our returning Veterans are being systematically labled with so-called “PTSD” before they even step foot back on our soil, pumped up with drugs and, as a result, DISARMED.  The so-called “Veterans” groups are popping up everywhere, but when one looks into who’s behind them, it’s soros and obama’s klan.  Our Veterans are being used and abused here, treated as nothing more than pawns in the game by this obama regime.  It makes me SICK to see ANY Veteran supporting those marxist pigs. Especially when we see articles such as this one.  HOW MANY TIMES DOES THIS OBAmA REGIME NEED TO SCREW YOU OVER BEFORE YOU OPEN YOUR EYES AND SEE THIS REGIME FOR WHAT THEY ARE?!?!?!?!  First obama cuts $500 BILLION from seniors and disabled, and now he wants to cut $500 BILLION from Veterans healthcare.  obama and the rest of his horrid regime (INCLUDING STATE GOVERNMENTS)  parade our Veterans, police, firefighters and teachers whenever they want to steal more money to line their own coffers.  VETERANS…. WAKE UP.  Don’t allow them to label you with a non-existent mental issue if you are not suffering from such.  YOU ARE BEING DISARMED ON A MASSIVE SCALE.  With PTSD and the drugs they’re pushing, you will NEVER regain your Second Amendment rights.  obama’s thug at DHS already labeled you Veterans as potential “Domestic Terrorists”.  They don’t want YOU owning or carrying firearms.  WAKE UP, VETERANS.  You are being used and abused by the obama regime.  Our Veterans shouldn’t have to pay ONE PENNY toward their healthcare….EVER.]

The Obama administration on Friday threatened to veto a defense appropriations bill in part because it does not include higher health care fees for members of the military.

“The Administration is disappointed that the Congress did not incorporate the requested TRICARE fee initiatives into either the appropriation or authorization legislation,” the White House wrote in an official policy statement expressing opposition to the bill, which the House approved in May……(Con’t)

obama Regime Committed To Hiking TRICARE Fees, Veterans Continue To Support His Regime

[TWG Note: obama and his dim grunts…. sticking it to our Veterans…. AGAIN.  Yet many of our Veterans will support them anyway.  Sure wish those Veterans would OPEN THEIR EYES. Any Veteran who would support marxist obama and his socialist/marxist/communist FASCIST regime is a TRAITOR. Their fellow Veterans from wars past did not fight FOR fascism. They fought AGAINST fascism.]

WH Committed to TRICARE Fee Hikes

May 16, 2012 | Terry Howell

The House Armed Services Committee recently forwarded the National Defense Authorization Act for FY 2013 (HR4310) to the full House for a vote. The bill added back many of the cuts proposed by the White House, and ignored the DoD’s request to increase TRICARE Fees for military retirees. (Read the original post)

While most expect it to pass in the House, it is also assumed that the Senate will not pass the current version. And, of course the President would surely veto it if it happened to make it through the Senate. On Wednesday the Office of Management and Budget that confirmed that the President would veto the bill. The OMB statement states, “If the cumulative effects of the bill impede the ability of the Administration to execute the new defense strategy and to properly direct scarce resources, the President’s senior advisors would recommend to the President that he veto the bill.”

The OMB’s  ”Statement of Administration Policy” responded to the House bill,  declaring the administration’s “disappointment” with the House for not supporting their budget recommendations. The report highlights specific sections of the HR 4310 that differ from their plan, such as limits to the reduction in forces, BRAC, missile defense, and limitations on reduction of nuclear forces, to name a few.

One of the areas we have been watching closely on the Military Advantage is the proposal to hike TRICARE fees. The statement makes it clear that the WH is committed to using the fee increases to make TRICARE sustainable.

The following is an excerpt from the OMB statement:

TRICARE Fees and Co-Payments:  The Administration agrees that retirees deserve a quality health care benefit.  For this very reason, the Administration strongly supports its requested TRICARE fee initiatives that seek to control the spiraling health care costs of the Department of Defense (DOD) while keeping retired beneficiaries’ share of these costs well below the levels experienced when the TRICARE program was implemented in the mid-1990s.  The projected FY 2013 TRICARE savings of $1.8 billion and $12.9 billion through FY 2017 are essential for DOD to successfully address rising personnel costs.  DOD needs these savings to balance and maintain investments for key defense priorities.  The Administration is very disappointed that the Committee did not support the proposed TRICARE fee increases and included section 718, which, while supporting some fee increases, caps them at levels below those allowed under current law and below the requested authorization.  If section 718 remains in the bill, it would only provide five year savings of $2.6 billion.”

Let your elected official know what you think about this issue.
