BBC1′s Panorama show has investigated Islamic weekend schools all through the UK. Their findings are frightening. For example, little children are being taught things as graphic as the best way to cut off a thief’s hand for stealing.

The following comes forwarded by Donald Hank. It incorporates shouts of warning from as near as our own advocates of Liberty and as far as from the grave of JRR Tolkien.

 

Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff faces up to three years in prison if convicted of defaming Islam.  The charges against her stem from a lecture she gave last year on the “Islamization of Europe,” specifically the statement:  ”Sharia is a definite no-no.  We want no gender apartheid, no ghettoes, no social and cultural discrimination, no polygamy, no theocracy, no hate…”  

Sabaditsch-Wolff spent most of her life in Muslim-majority countries – in Kuwait, in Iran during the Islamic revolution, and in Libya.  She has had many Muslim friends and is intimately familiar with Islamic culture.  Sabaditsch-Wolff witnessed two non-Muslim friends being physically attacked for breaking the Ramadan fast – one, a Coptic Christian for licking postage stamps, the other for chewing gum. 

Ms. Sabaditsch-Wolff has observed the rapid Islamization of Europe and worries that non-Muslims in the Western world are ignorant about Islamic doctrine – the Koran, Sira and Hadith – and how its dictates are carried out.  She fears that Westerners are unaware that Islam teaches that women are worth half of a man, permits the beating of wives for perceived insubordination to their husbands, teaches the ostracizing and pillorying of non-believers, mandates the stoning of allegedly unfaithful women and the hanging of homosexuals, dictates cross amputation for thieves, etc.  As European governments (and the U.S. government) continue to fund and consort with Islamic jihadist organizations and hire and promote Islamist advisors, the path toward Islamization and thus shariah is imminent.

The case against Sabaditsch-Wolff is an attempt to silence anyone who dares to speak out and awaken Europeans to the encroaching threat.  However, Ms. Sabaditsch-Wolff doesn’t view the charges against her as a personal attack and states,

This is not Elisabeth being prosecuted.  I am just a proxy.  What is burdening me is the burden of history.  I am part of history now.  I am doing this for millions and millions of people in the Western world, in Europe, in the U.S., in Canada, who are also champions of freedom, freedom of speech, human rights.”

This should be a list of shame. You would think that our own elected officials would understand the First Amendment but, apparently, they have no problem turning the US into one of the small list of authoritarian countries that censors internet content it does not like (in this case, content some of its largest campaign contributors do not like). We already have laws in place to deal with infringing content, so don’t buy the excuse that this law is about stopping infringement. This law takes down entire websites based on the government’s say-so, and as of today it has taken down 75 domains. First Amendment protections make clear that if you are going to stop any specific speech, it has to be extremely specific speech. This law has no such restrictions. It’s really quite unfortunate that these 19 US Senators are the first American politicians to publicly vote in favor of censoring speech in America.
